Corona School of Gymnastics is a family-centered club with a deep passion for gymnastics. It was founded in 1972 and now serves over 2,000 members with comprehensive gymnastics education that develops a gymnast’s mind and body. With an upbeat staff of 65 professionals, Corona is focused on teaching the three “Fs”: fun, fitness and fundamentals. In addition to growing a thriving recreational gymnastics program in the Ottawa area, the club has a long track record of developing elite gymnasts that compete regionally, provincially and internationally. Beyond the championships and medals that Corona’s competitive gymnasts have claimed, they are extremely proud to be home to third generation gymnasts whose parents and grandparents attended Corona before them.
The Situation
Corona School of Gymnastics had been using gymnastics management software from an established software provider in the United States, but they were continually running into issues. The software platform was aged and difficult to navigate.
When Corona Gymnastics made requests for the software provider to add much needed features, or when they shared advice on how new functions could help them be more successful, they felt they were quickly dismissed. It was a frustrating experience. Adding Gymnastics Ontario fees, pro-rating class prices for late signups, offering discounts, and tracking skills were all unnecessarily time consuming, requiring work-arounds and lots of manual intervention to accomplish what they needed.
On top of all this, their fees were fluctuating and Corona Gymnastics found themselves with ever-increasing monthly payments.
These mounting issues took time away from Corona’s administrative team. So, when they saw that Gymnastics Ontario selected Uplifter as their Official Partner for Member Management Software, Corona Gymnastics reached out to learn more about Uplifter’s trusted and proven gymnastics class management software.
The Solution
Corona Gymnastics made the decision to switch to Uplifter after exploratory discussions with the Uplifter Team. Tamara explains that,
“during our meetings, the team from Uplifter listened to us and answered our numerous questions. They are very knowledgeable, helpful and very quick with their communication.”
After assessing Uplifter’s software, Corona’s Team decided to move their array of services onto the Uplifter platform including: online registration and complete club management services; summer camp registrations, birthday party bookings, drop-in gymnastics, and more.
As soon as they launched with Uplifter, Corona Gymnastics noticed a positive difference. “The online registration is so much simpler than our last system,” Tamara says. “It’s very easy for new and existing parents to find the correct class, day and time.” Overall, the ease-of-use has increased their online registrations by 10%, freeing up more time for their team to work on new projects. As an added bonus, Tamara also explains that, “In-house registrations are much quicker than with our previous system too.” Alleviating registration headaches on the customer side of the registration process is a big deal. When parents experience a quick and easy registration, it reflects positively on a gymnastics club. Tamara says, “we’ve seen our customer satisfaction increase thanks to Uplifter’s simpler registration system.”

Financial Reporting:
Uplifter provides clubs with 30 unique reports right out of the box. These reports give gymnastics clubs a detailed view of registration, operations, revenues and more. “The report functions are very robust,” Tamara explains. “We are able to export very detailed reports which has allowed us to streamline many of our administrative duties.” It’s evident that these detailed reports don’t just provide key insights, they reveal actionable opportunities that help clubs save time.
New Features & Feature Enhancements:
Corona Gymnastics felt as if they were being dismissed when they made feature requests to their old software provider. However, with Uplifter they’re finding the exact opposite is true. “We get immediate responses to every support ticket we send in. The support team is very thorough in their responses and solutions.” In addition to Uplifter’s receptive support team, Corona now enjoys new features and enhancements added to Uplifter each month, if not weekly!
Automated Payment Processing:
Manual intervention can be common with other software providers. With Corona’s old provider, all of their registrations had to be manually verified and adjusted appropriately before processing. Plus, all payment receipts had to be manually emailed. Conversely, Uplifter offers fully automated payment solutions, and Corona Gymnastics is loving the end result. “The payment processing and automated receipts are excellent! They’re efficient, accurate, and our customer satisfaction has increased because of it.”
