Delivering Cost Savings and Superior Online Integrations
Overview
Prairie Fire Cheerleading is a leader in cheer instruction and development in the province of Saskatchewan. With 24 coaches and staff, their team focuses on creating a fun and comfortable home away from home where athletes can confidently develop their skills and abilities. Prior to Uplifter, Prairie Fire Cheerleading found themselves using registration software that didn’t offer many integrations with their website and couldn’t give them the end-to-end user experience they were looking for. After hearing good things about Uplifter in the cheer community, they decided to get in touch and see what Uplifter’s software could do.

About Prairie Fire Cheerleading
Prairie Fire Cheerleading has been delivering competitive, pre-competitive and private cheer instruction in Saskatoon since 2005. Their staff of 24 coaches and administrators engage athletes of all ages by providing cheerleading opportunities and active fun for all. At the heart of their operations is the safe sport initiative which prioritizes creating a safe environment where everyone can thrive.
At Prairie Fire Cheerleading, you’ll find a state of the art 7500 sq. foot facility and a supportive leadership group that places a huge focus on family and teamwork. With these tenants guiding everything they do, the Prairie Fire Cheerleading staff strives to provide a second home for athletes, a comfortable space for parents and the best cheerleading training equipment and coaches in the province of Saskatchewan.
The Situation
As a premiere cheerleading gym in Saskatchewan, Prairie Fire Cheerleading has become a leader in delivering expert cheer instruction to their athletes. Whether they’re just starting out, or training for one of Prairie Fire Cheerleading’s Worlds level teams, athletes and their families know they’re in good company. From weight training to movement classes and tumbling, Prairie Fire Cheerleading delivers a complete cheer experience.
When it came to registering their members, Prairie Fire Cheerleading was using a system that allowed for online registration, but lacked more advanced features. Given their own expertise in offering end-to-end cheerleading instruction, the ownership at Prairie Fire Cheerleading wanted an online system that could offer a truly complete registration and class management solution. Specifically, they wanted a system that could fully integrate with their website, offer merchandise sales and improve upon their party registrations, open gym and drop-ins. Prairie Fire Cheerleading had heard good things about Uplifter in the cheer community, but they didn’t know exactly what Uplifter could do. So, they decided to reach out and see if Uplifter could meet their needs.
The Solution
Today, Taylor Dea says that the website for Prairie Fire Cheerleading, “is now completely integrated and run through Uplifter, which I love.” When athletes and their families visit prairiefirecheerleading.ca, they can easily read about the club and their programs, browse and purchase merchandise, register for classes and more. Dea says that, “allowing drop-in events such as party registrations and open gyms is another aspect that we have been able to drastically improve by using Uplifter.” With Uplifter’s intuitive drop-in capacity management open gym time is a breeze to manage. Plus, birthday parties can be customized to meet Prairie Fire Cheerleading’s exact needs.
Beyond their website, drop-ins and birthdays, Prairie Fire Cheerleading has welcomed Uplifter’s array of built-in admin features. Taylor says, “we have been very happy and I have found Uplifter extremely helpful to track attendance, pull reports and make our general admin easier.” By simplifying admin tasks, Taylor and her team are able to stay focused on growing their gym and delivering top quality cheer instruction. In less than a year of using Uplifter, Taylor says that, “we have absolutely been able to measure growth already which is great.” As an added bonus, Prairie Fire Cheerleading has also, “seen a cost savings of approximately 20%.” Saving money and membership growth? That’s a great result!
What’s next for the Prairie Fire Cheerleading team? Taylor says, “I am very excited about the prospect of using all of the evaluations features to track and share progress. And I am also looking forward to seeing how this works alongside our tryout process.” By adopting evaluation features into their athlete assessment process, Prairie Fire Cheerleading can easily send digital report cards to their athlete’s profiles and keep a record of how each athlete progresses. During tryouts, Uplifter’s digital evaluations can make quick work of consolidating results. Best of all, an athlete’s tryout results can be sent to their personal profile, so they can easily see where they excelled and where they can focus their training for the best results.
Favourite Features
Website:
Prairie Fire Cheerleading has now built their website on the Uplifter platform. This replaces the need to have a separate content management system and website contract. More importantly it allows them to deliver a user-friendly experience that unifies browsing and program signups. Taylor says, their “website is wonderful, especially the calendar integration.” Now it’s easy for families to browse upcoming programs and register directly from Prairie Fire Cheerleading’s built-in calendar.
Online Registration:
Online registration has been more organized and streamlined than with their previous system. Separating programs and registration pages has improved the user experience. The team also finds it easy to setup shorter season programs, individual programming, competition fees and expenses, merchandise, uniform and shoe sales, and fundraising. By simplifying these key admin tasks, Prairie Fire Cheerleading can reduce their administrative load and focus on achieving their organizational goals.
News Tab:
It’s always important to keep members updated about your club activities, whether you are using Uplifter’s built-in email tool, the message board on participant profiles, or the public news tab. Taylor Dea explains that, “the news tab is amazing for sharing news updates with our members.” By updating their membership, Prairie Fire Cheerleading is able to keep families engaged. And of course, a more engaged membership can help drive registrations, fundraising, merchandise sales and more.
